360° Bioclear Veneers
Bioclear 360 veneers are a fantastic way to rejuvenate and repair teeth without needing to remove the same amount of tooth structure as crowns or porcelain veneers.
Anatomically shaped plastic matrices are wrapped around the tooth. Within this mould, warmed composite is added to create a monolithic, solid structure, which is aesthetically pleasing and is as functional as your natural tooth.
Bioclear 360 veneers can be a great way to conservatively treat worn teeth, by adding composite to compensate for the enamel loss without removing much tooth structure.
BIOCLEAR veneers procedure
Where most traditional veneers require some tooth reshaping, Bioclear keeps that tooth reshaping to a minimum. The veneers allow the warm composite to wrap around your tooth 360 degrees and can improve the strength of your tooth.
Anatomically shaped clear plastic matrices are placed under the gum and wrapped around the tooth, sealing the tooth inside the matrix. It creates a smooth and healthy filling surface around the gum (a common issue in dentistry).
The technique involves injecting the composite material around the tooth (injection over-moulding). The filling/composite is heated and injected under pressure around the tooth while the matrix holds the composite inside. There is no layering of material — it is a monolithic block of composite which is much stronger and looks much better.
The composite is light-cured, shaped, and polished, producing a glassy enamel-like shine.
It is a game changer that has allowed modern conservative dentistry to overtake the older methods. Less than a handful of dentists are trained in the Bioclear Method in Australia.
Long-lasting veneers
With proper care and attention, Bioclear can last a decade. The material is incredibly durable and can withstand usual wear and tear — in fact, patients with Bioclear veneers can eat most foods without worrying about chipping their teeth. Bioclear veneers are also simple to repair — if a chip does occur, your dentist can simply add to the composite to rebuild it.
